GETTYSBURG HOCKEY
The Bullet hockey team is the only hockey team in the Gettysburg area and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports on campus of Gettysburg College. The team plays in the Great Northeast Hockey Conference in Division II club (non-varsity) hockey. They compete against rivals such as Bucknell, Muhlenberg, Princeton, University of Penn, Rutgers, as well as against other major universities in the Mid Atlantic region. The Bullets are also a member of the national American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), which is essentially the equivalent of the NCAA for club hockey.
PROJECT
We partnered with the coaches of Gettysburg's Bullet hockey team to create images for their promotional materials. The team practices and plays hard every week, but money is tight so the goal of the shoot was to create images for social media and posters that would catch people's attention and boost ticket sales. We knew that a hockey team calls for a different style than a corporate headshot so we took the lead from Sports Illustrated and chose a more dramatic lighting style to emphasize the athletes and the intensity they bring to their sport.
